Erdoğan says stay home for 3 weeks, reveals $15 bln aid

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on citizens to stay at home unless it is urgent not to do so, also revealing a 100-billion-lira (roughly $15 billion) support package for businesses “which do not curb employment.”

Following an emergency meeting on measures to be taken against the Coronavirus outbreak, Erdoğan said March 18 in Ankara that the duration to stay at home could be limited to three weeks “if restrictions are strictly obeyed.”

He called on elder citizens not to go out.

The president also said university entry exams could also be postponed, which signals that measures against the pandemic could last until June.
